Challenging existing conservative/liberal, republican/democrat, left/right linear stratification of political standpoints there is time for more up to date model.
There are two reasons to do this:
a) Complexity and individualization of social life is speeding up. Rigid bipolar stratification (left/right…) is pragmatically valuable but is far from explaining us subtle differences in position of one party over time simultaneous differences among parti members.
b) There are so many novel insights in all sciences, especially in physics, biology, memetics, cosmology, - but as well in philosophy, linguistics and other sciences, that are having no (but should have) influence on political science.
I would not dare to say that the model below has an ambition to be the sole possible model - as we can not dare to say that our world is sole possible world. As such is giving us an option to think about reality we are living in from another angle (another angles), angle that provides new colors, new shades and new possibility to align.
POLITICAL BRANE TOPOLOGY
There are only two permanent (o)positions in political brane topology (PBT): conservative and progressive. In fact they are not positions that one could take place in, but possibilities. One can be farer or closer to each pole (north, south) but never on the pole itself. One can never be progressive only neither conservative only. One can understand conservatism as a belief system that understand that there is no arrow of time pointing forward - and progressivism as a belief system that understands gradual or whatsoever progression of something in time. With high degree of simplification, but… we could say that Buddhism and some other historic eastern belief systems are more conservative, while western belief systems are more progressive.
The brane itself should be understood as a string that occupies various curvatures between north and south pole. When the string is in a position that resembles narrow “line” between north and south, than this is a liberal position. Liberal position has the highest possible entropy. Of course we should never forget that we are talking about a brane; we know that there is never a case that you could find a brane in exactly liberal (highest possible entropy) position. It is easier to picture yourself the brane as soon as you leave two dimensional space.
Horizontal arrows represent some possible tensions that are constantly pushing a brane from highest entropy (lowest information) middle of the road position to various extremes on either side of the brane. We could describe a liberal position as one that produces no mutations. Liberal means being equal all around. While extreme positions are those that produce many (too many) mutations thus representing a threat of instability for the system. There are many horizontal tensions that keep the brane alive and not only four placed on the picture above.
When we say that the entropy of each horizontal tension decreases in both directions from vertical line we also say that the sustainability factor (information level) follows phase transition curvature. (Numbers from 1 - 50 roughly describe sustainability factor; 50 being the largest.) That means that information output raises as a position follows the horizontal line left or right from the central liberal line but then at certain point starts to decline to zero again when it reaches the instability point (insanity point) / in the moment when the level of mutations exceeds the level that the brane can absorb.
We should understand the brane as an explanation of human micro cosmos or even an explanation of human particles; but as well as explanation of higher entities as political parties (or even larger entities?). This also means that each brane is a world that is separated form each other entirely. There is in fact no communication possible among them. There are parallel worlds within each individual.
This should be the end of monolithic, static, bipolar… explanation of political reality. Humans should be understood as quantum entities at last.
